Here’s An Opinion On:
Submitted by: Cristie Rheault
Millions already know how incredible body building is as a hobby or a seriously competitive sport. It’s interesting and curious that the sometimes bad rep that body building gets is from people who know nothing about it, don’t understand it, and cannot appreciate why people do it. It’s easy to see something, like in a movie or on TV, and then everything is interpreted and based on that. There’s really nothing to defend about body building, those who do it know the truth as well as those who don’t yet they are objective about it and understand. The need or desire for supplemental support is the rationale behind their use. For those who are trying to make their way through the myriad products, it can get pretty bewildering at best. There are some considerations when you’re trying to choose, they can all look great but it’s important for safety reasons that you not take so many at the same time. We’ll move forward to talk about a few types of supplements that many lifters like to use.
More lifters than you may think like to take advantage of the effects of growth hormones and they use them. The shortened name for them is HGH which is what they’re called by people who have a reason to know about them. This is a hormone that is naturally secreted by the pituitary gland and helps keep your body healthy. Unfortunately, this hormone declines quite a bit after the age of thirty. The issue is that very many weight training athletes continue on way past the age of 30. This is why this particular body building supplement has become so popular. The synthetic variety is effective and works, but it’s not quite the same as what occurs naturally.
You should talk to your doctor prior to making a decision about body building supplements. Resist the urge to take a little of every supplement out there when you are first starting out in any sport thatmight require stamina. Knowing which hormones and enzymes you should be bulking up is a question for your doctor. You will be less likely to cause yourself harm with supplements if you consult a doctor. At some point you might be able to figure it out on your own.
Anti-estrogens is another kind of supplement that is not so widely accepted, and there’s a lot of talk going on back and forth about them. Estrogen is the “opposite” of testosterone, even though it is present in males as well as females (as is testosterone). Now, estrogen controls whether or not the pituitary will produce testosterone. Ok, now testosterone is needed for strength and the ability to keep it. The reasoning is that you’ll have more strength if you eliminate the estrogen. We think any doctor may recommend against this, but still – to be safe, see your doctor. Women should be especially concerned since estrogen is involved with so many other processes.
If supplements are right for you it is really a joint decision between you, your trainor and your doctor. If you really enjoy the sport, you might be tempted to start taking supplements on your own. Fight this urge. For one thing you might not need supplements yet at all. For another, you need to know which things you need to supplement if you want to be healthy and successful. You may not need them right away.
